Our medical team does a complete medical history and evaluation during your appointment and will decide on an appropriate treatment plan. If you agree with the plan, you may elect to start a new medication, or change a dose on an existing medication. In some cases, it may be in your best interest to stop an older medication if it is ineffective or causing side effects. At Remedy, one goal is to provide comprehensive care, using all medication options in order to provide the most personalized treatment plan.
The list of medications below includes what we may prescribe. We use non-controlled substances when possible, abide by all state and federal regulations (including the requirement to check a DEA database for each patient’s medication history), and in some cases, patients may need to provide further information to substantiate use of a controlled substance.
Given the risk of addiction and severe withdrawal (which can include death from withdrawal), we do not prescribe daily use of benzodiazepines, as these medications are best used for intermittent severe anxiety. Prescribing of medication is up to the discretion of your Remedy Provider.
Please note that controlled substances can currently be prescribed over telemedicine due to Covid-19, though this ruling may be reversed. Please go here for the latest prescribing updates as posted by the DEA.
Currently, we are only able to prescribe medications to California residents, using California pharmacies (or mail order pharmacies delivering to a California residence). We do not prescribe certain medications, injectable medications, pain medications or daily benzodiazepines.
Please take medication as prescribed by your Remedy medical provider. You and your provider will discuss any side effects, and the risks, benefits and alternatives to each medication, during your video appointment.
